Pages Within is a mixed media visual journaling experience that invites you to slow down, explore, and create with intention.

Rather than teaching a right way to make art, Pages Within creates space for curiosity, experimentation, and personal expression. Through prompts, creative challenges, and open exploration, you're invited to discover your own creative process while creating something that is uniquely yours.

Each participant creates their own visual journal using accessible, everyday materials. That journal becomes a place to collect ideas, memories, questions, observations, and moments of creativity that can continue growing over time.

Whether you join once or return again and again, Pages Within is designed to meet you wherever you are in your creative journey.

Your journal begins with choice.

Choose the journal size that feels right for you.

Select the pages you'd like to include.

Trim your pages if needed.

Assemble and glue your journal.

Then make it your own.

Whether simple or layered, every journal is unique because every participant is unique.

Prompt Cards are organized into three collections. Choose one that speaks to you, or simply explore until something catches your attention.

Challenge Cards invite you to approach your work in a new way. Pair one with a Prompt Card, or use it on its own. See where it takes you.

DRAWING & MARK MAKING | Explore line, shape, and mark making in new ways.

• Contour Line / Zen Doodle: Create using repetitive line work that builds around a shape, word, or form.

• Eyes Closed Start: Begin with your eyes closed, then continue without covering what was created.

• Crayon: Use crayon as your primary tool.

COLOR | Experiment by limiting or exploring color.

• Monochromatic: Work using one color while exploring tone, shade, and variation.

• Three Color Palette: Choose three colors and create using only those colors.

• Water Based Media: Incorporate watercolor or alcohol ink into your work.

WORDS & STORY | Let language become part of the creative process.

• Blackout Poetry: Create using blackout poetry techniques.

• Cut + Assemble Text: Form words or phrases using cut letters and text from found materials.

• Text + Image Interaction: Combine image and words so they interact with each other.

COLLAGE & CONSTRUCTION | Build, layer, transform, and reimagine.

• Collage Only: Create using only found images and materials.

• Image Reimagined: Transform an existing image using drawing, collage, or other materials.

• Self / Found Image Integration: Incorporate a personal image, or one that represents you, and build around it.

• Reveal / Hidden Layer: Create flaps, doors, or windows that reveal something beneath the surface.

• Cardboard Construction: Use cardboard as a primary material to build your image.

• Fabric: Incorporate fabric into your piece.

• Yarn / String: Use yarn or string as part of your composition.

CREATIVE EXPLORATION | Try a different way of thinking or creating.

• Style Reference: Create in a way that is inspired by a specific artist or art style.

• Single Source: Use only one source, such as a magazine, book, or material, for your entire piece.
